Kiran Bedi Joins BJP
Back in 2012 when Arwind Kejriwal proposed of starting a political party, Kiran Bedi was reluctant to stay in AAP and join the political party. But now as we know things have changed in ‘Modi Rajya’, Kiran Bedi is all set to be a member of BJP however her role in the party is not decided yet. This news has shocked the Aam Admi Party and congress called it ‘Gross Political Opportunism’.
Kiran Bedi worked with AAP to support their various protests against corruption and UPA government. But she parted her way out of it when Kejriwal decided to raise the battle by forming a political party. Kiran Bedi has been in favor of Modi’s government and appreciated his efforts via tweeter and other sources. After her decision, Kejriwal looked optimistic and stated that he always offered Kiran Bedi to join Politics but she refused. He tweeted that “I have been fond of Kiran Bedi ji. I always tried to convince her that she should join politics. I am happy she did it today”. However the different reaction came from the AAP leader Sanjay Singh, who averted her step as “shocking” as he always thought that Kiran Bedi would remain apolitical and fight for the right thing as social issues.

Inspiring leadership of Narendra Modi has been instrumental in her joining BJP. She was appointed in BJP under the presence of party President Amit Shah and Union ministers Harsh Vardhan and Arun Jaitley at the BJP headquarters. Bedi will be contesting polls, but it’s not yet decided that whether she will be standing against kejriwal or someone else.
Congress leader Ajay Maken stated that Kejriwal and Bedi used Anna Hazare to fulfil their political visions and “backstabbed” him afterwards. He stated that “Bedi, who had on record criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and claimed the IAC movement to be neither anti-congress, nor the pro-BJP, today betrayed the trust of the people associated with the IAC campaign”.
All we understand from this hustle is that we are going to witness some real time drama during Delhi elections, so let’s wait and see how Kiran Bedi affects the fate of the Modi government.
