Ball Curry is an Anglo-Indian dish from the colonial Indian past with some Portuguese influence in it. Ball curry can be of various kinds, Mutton ball curry, Chicken ball curry and Lamb ball curry. Today we will learn how to make Mutton Ball Curry in few easy steps. Basically, Ball Curry is prepared by making balls of minced Mutton (also called Mutton Kofte) and is served with rich yellow coconut rice. This recipe needs to be prepared with perfection to feel the true taste from its Anglo-Indian origin.

Ingredients for Curry Gravy
3 onions (chopped)
3 tomatoes (finely chopped to make puree)
1 curry leave
½ cup coconut paste
Salt (as per your taste)
4 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon coriander leaves
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
3 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon garam masala, 3 teaspoons ginger garlic paste
Ingredients for the Mutton Balls (Mutton Kofte)
500-600 gms of minced mutton (fine mince)
½ teaspoon Garam masala
3 green chilies chopped
Coriander leaves (chopped finely)
Salt (as per your taste)
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
Instruction for preparing Mutton ball curry
Firstly, we will be preparing Mutton balls.
1. Just take the minced mutton in a bowl and then put the other ingredients and mix them properly
2. Make small balls from the mixture and keep them aside.
Now let’s prepare the final gravy with coconut base.
1. At first, heat the oil in a large deep pan and after a while put chopped onions in it.
2. Fry till onions are golden brown.
3. Add ginger garlic paste then put curry leaves and fry them for few more minutes.
4. Now add garam masala, turmeric powder, coconut paste, chili powder, coriander powder, mix it properly and let it fry.
5. After few minutes add tomato puree with salt, stir the puree to mix it properly with spices.
6. Add water to make the gravy and boil it at low heat.
7. When gravy is boiling, slowly and carefully drop the Mutton balls.
8. Boil the gravy till the Mutton balls are not cooked.
9. Just switch off the stove when curry the desired thickness.

Ingredients to prepare perfect Yellow coconut rice
1 cup of coconut milk (Mix it with water to make 4 cups of diluted milk)
500 gms of Rice
Salt (as per your taste)
Cloves and cardamoms
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
5 tablespoons ghee (or butter)
Take a deep pan and put ghee in it, put all the spices in it and fry at low heat for few minutes. Now put washed rice, turmeric powder, and coconut milk. Cook until the rice is cooked properly.
