On a rainy evening, after coming back from work, everybody feels like munching some crispy, hot snack. Here is the recipe for one such easy to make snacks – Rava Bonda which is easy to make, tasty and spicy too.
Ingredients required for Rava Bonda
- 1 cup Chiroti Soji
- 1 Cup Rice Flour (Fine powder)
- 1 Cup Basin
- 1 Cup Maida
- 1 Big Size Onion, finely chopped
- Green Chilies finely cut
- Coriander leaves finely chopped
- Salt to Taste
- ¼ teaspoon Sugar
- Fresh Lemon juice – 1 small spoon
- 1 pinch of baking powder (Optional, but better to add if you are not allergic to this)
Preparation of Rava Bonda
Chop the onion into Fine Pieces (Better if you can chop into fine pieces). Chop green Chilies and fresh Coriander leaves.
Mix all the flours, add onion, green chilies, fresh coriander leaves, salt, and sugar. Add 1 pinch of Baking Powder and Lemon. Mix them well, now add water and make a dough. The thickness of the dough should be such that you can drop it into the oil with a spoon.
If the dough is too watery, bonda will absorb a lot of oil and also will not taste good. If the dough is too thick, bonda becomes hard. So it should be brought to the consistency of dosa batter to get that perfect taste. Keep the mix aside for 5-10 minutes. This will help in perfectly setting of all ingredients as sugar and salt will dissolve and get absorbed into the batter to give a perfect even mixture.
Heat the oil in a thick bottomed pan on medium flame. When the oil is hot enough drop the mix with a spoon into the oil and deep fry on medium heat till golden brown. drain the oil using a sieve or tissue paper.
Crispy, yummy rainy evening snack is ready. Relish it with chutney or sauce.
