Udaipur cityUdaipur city is considered the best romantic city to visit. The city is full of temples, palaces, forts, garden which is adorned by three major lakes and is located amidst Aravalli Hills. Historically also, Udaipur is an important city, which was the capital of Mewar kingdom who were known for their valor and chivalry.

Location

Udaipur city is located in Rajasthan, at a distance of around 650 kms from Delhi and around 740 kms from Mumbai, and is well connected with all major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Agra and Jaipur by Air, train and road.

Visiting time :

Though it is termed as Venice of India, summers can be hot here with temperature rising above 40O. The best time to visit this city to stay romantic is between September and March when the temperature is comfortable.

Temple: Jagdish temple is the most important temple. It is adorned by Indo-Aryan Architecture. This Vishnu Temple has intricate carvings of Vishnu and Krishna. You can also visit Mount Abu, Dilwara Temples, Saas Bahu temple

Palace : This beautiful palace stands majestically adjacent to Pichola lake. The palace is the brain child of Maharana Uday Singh II and stands tall at 30 meters above the lake. The palace encompasses many gardens, museums and smaller structures which are architectural splendor. Do not forget to observe that the splendid painting on walls and roof.

Lakes : Fateh Lake, Pichhola Lake and Swaroop Sagar Lake are three important lakes which are not to be missed. They offer panoramic view and serenity to the visitors.

Shopping : There are many malls and also roadside shopping places. Handicraft items, Jewellery, wooden toys and paintings are worth buying here.

Other attractions like Nehru Garden, Solar Observatory, Ahar Garden, Gulab Bagh, Saheliyon ki Bari, Zoo are worth visiting.

You can also enjoy  horse riding, camel riding, cycling, safaris and cultural shows which gives you a unique experience.

Unique and authentic Mewar cuisine like Daal-baati-choorma and Gatte-ki-Sabzi are not to be missed apart from other spicy snacks. Though all types of food are available here, it is good to taste the local specialties.
