Matar mushroom is favorite of everybody especially children.They are not only delicious but healthy too. It has a host of vitamins especially vitamin D.Mushrooms are the way to healthy living as if eaten regularly  they make the bone mass density strong  which develops in childhood and young adulthood.

Bones develops till the age of thirty and then gradually it takes a downward flow but the consumption of mushrooms makes the bones strong and they remain so even after crossing the age of 40.  The vitamin D in mushrooms not only help in the absorption of calcium but also helps in fighting against a lot of diseases.

Mushrooms help prevent cancer and raise immunity levels. It is heart friendly and a certain kind of protein is present in mushrooms which no other vegetable has. Matar, as you know, are packed with vitamin A, K C and oodles of protein.So when we prepare a curry with matar and mushroom in unison the package turns into a power deal of health and rejuvenation.

Curry, as you are aware, is quite spicy and gives it a mouthwatering flavor. Mushroom matar can well be served as appetizers, snacks and side dishes as mushrooms increase the appetite.This matar mushroom curry is a delightful, heavenly and delicate dish. Matar mushroom curry is prepared in north India in a Punjabi style with a lot of cashews and if you go to south India the basic ingredient for curry is coconut and Bengalis prepare the same dish in certain other way and that is what makes our country a diverse country with a whole lot of culture and cuisine.

Ingredients

  1. 2 packets mushrooms
  2. 250-gram matar
  3. 4 onions (finely chopped)
  4. 5 cloves of garlic (chopped)
  5. ½ inch ginger julienned
  6. 4 tomatoes (grated)
  7. ¾ tsp of turmeric powder
  8. 2 tsp coriander powder
  9. 1 tsp of kitchen king masala
  10. 1 tsp of garam masala
  11. 1 tsp red chili powder
  12. ½ teaspoon cumin
  13. Salt as required
  14. 4 tsp ghee
  15. 5-6 cashews

Procedure

  • Take a kadhai and heat the oil and add onions into it and sauté onions till golden brown.
  • Add ginger and green chilly to it.
  • Add kitchen king masala, coriander powder, red chilli powder garam masala and then add the tomatoes and wait till the mixture leaves oil.
  • Add mushroom and matar to the sauce and add 2 cups of water.
  • Close the lid and cook on low flame for 10 to 12 minutes till the vegetables become tender.
  • Garnish with coarsely ground cashews and coriander leaves.

Serve hot with rice or roti and see the smiles blossom on the faces!
